OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM

Phil Ryan  CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER  Phil Ryan is the founder and original Brand Director of City Chic. In 2006 Ryan lead a team of six people that created the brand. He is responsible for the strategic direction and operational leadership that has seen City Chic open in 5 countries and take a market leading position in the global plus size industry.  Under Phil’s leadership City Chic has opened 115 stores in Australia, South Africa and NZ. The digital footprint is now over 35% of the turnover globally for CC and in the UK and Europe City Chic trades in a digital capacity. He has driven successful partnerships with Nordstroms, Macys and Bloomingdales in the USA; Asos and Evans in the UK and Zalando in Germany.  Phil is a global authority in the plus size consumer. He has over 25 years’ experience in senior and strategic retail apparel management. Phil’s family had a fashion manufacturing, wholesale and retail business called Ambition in the 1980’s and 1990’s and from this he knows all areas of a ragtrade business; from the cutting table to the retail shop floor. Munraj Dhaliwal  CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (Incoming)  Munraj has a decade experience in finance, strategy, investment banking and corporate advisory. He joined City Chic as the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development in March 2018, and was appointed as the incoming CFO in November 2018.  Munraj was previously with investment bank Luminis Partners in Sydney and the Royal Bank of Canada in London, as well as corporate advisory and accounting firm Lonergan Edwards.  Munraj holds a Bachelor and Master of Commerce from The University of Sydney.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (Incoming)

Munraj has a decade experience in finance, strategy, investment banking and corporate advisory. He joined City Chic as the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development in March 2018, and was appointed as the incoming CFO in November 2018.

Munraj was previously with investment bank Luminis Partners in Sydney and the Royal Bank of Canada in London, as well as corporate advisory and accounting firm Lonergan Edwards.

Munraj holds a Bachelor and Master of Commerce from The University of Sydney.

 
Carley Turner  HEAD OF BRAND  Carley Turner is the Head of Marketing & Brand for City Chic. She has driven the City Chic digital business from its inception in 2007 to over 35% of turnover globally in 2018. Carley was a pioneer in the fashion digital space in Australia. With 15 years in retail and fashion, Carley has worked with some of Australia’s largest women’s apparel brands in a marketing capacity.  Carley is a global authority in the importance of brand and customer perception within the plus fashion industry. She holds a Business Degree, majoring in Marketing from Newcastle University.

Heathcliffe Robertshaw

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Heathcliffe Robertshaw, is City Chic’s Head of Operations leading all internal store functions from financials to culture.

Heathcliffe has an abundance of senior retail operations experience gained over 25 years with brands such as Topshop and Topman, Levis Strauss, British Home Stores.

Heathcliffe also worked in the automotive retail segment for Group Lotus PLC, the world famous sports car manufacturer as General Manager of retail operations and marketing. Heathcliffe also held two directorship positions, one with Lotus Finance and joint venture finance house with Lloyds of London.

Heathcliffe’s depth of both financial and operations experience has been utilised with his global role for the City Chic brand in the US market. He has a passion for people development and building commercially focused teams that deliver sustainable results.

Lucy McMahon  HEAD OF DESIGN & PRODUCT  Lucy Doyle is the Head of Design and Product for City Chic. She drives the creative direction for the City Chic product in all markets. She oversees all production, quality assurance and compliance. Lucy’s role is to ensure the product is to the high standards of City Chic styling, fit and quality. Under her guidance City Chic has increased its average sell price by over 40% though styling and quality initiatives.  Lucy is a connoisseur of all things fashion and style, with a passion for bespoke prints and cutting edge textiles she is the driving force behind the ranges that define City Chic and have led to the global success in 6 countries. Lucy’s eye for style and her innate ability to transform the season colours, trends and styles into unique designs, fitted with the curvy woman in mind, make her a leading figure in the global plus size industry.  Lucy has over 25 years’ experience in product design, buying and development, specialising in the fashion forward junior market. She has worked on many of Australia’s largest fashion brands including Myer, Sportsgirl, The Apparel Group and Rockmans. She studied Fashion Design in Australia at East Sydney Design School.

Jordana Silver  HEAD OF INTERNATIONAL SALES  Jordana Silver leads City Chic’s international sales’ business. Her experience hails from the USA where Jordana worked for 15 years in the fashion industry. In this role, she managed product and merchandising for one of the largest plus size businesses in the USA and cemented her understanding of the US plus size consumer and landscape.  Jordana brings to CC US expertise and experience in the plus size market. She holds an Honours B.A from the University of Toronto and an A.A.S Degree from Parsons School of Design in NYC.n

HEAD OF INTERNATIONAL SALES

Jordana Silver leads City Chic’s international sales’ business. Her experience hails from the USA where Jordana worked for 15 years in the fashion industry. With 7 years of experience at Michael Kors, Jordana’s background was first rooted in product working alongside Michael on both his men’s and women’s collection design teams. She transitioned to a sales role within the company where she managed and grew the wholesale and ecommerce businesses with leading retail partners such as Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Macy’s amongst others.

Prior to joining the CC team in 2017, Jordana was the VP of Merchandising for Gwynnie Bee, a plus size online rental service. In this role, she managed product and merchandising for one of the largest plus size businesses in the USA and cemented her understanding of the US plus size consumer and landscape.

Jordana brings to CC US expertise and experience in the plus size market. She holds an Honours B.A from the University of Toronto and an A.A.S Degree from Parsons School of Design in NYC.n

Sonia Moura  HEAD OF PEOPLE AND CULTURE  Sonia is the Head of People & Culture, leading the strategy to create a great place to work.
